Meet Miranda Pullen, PRIMED's Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations Associate.
Miranda is no stranger to PRIMED - she first started her journey with the company in 2019 as a summer intern. During that time, she worked on projects including updating company policies and product testing. Since then, Miranda has graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and is currently completing her final year of her Master of Public Health at New York University.
Upon returning to Edmonton, Miranda was eager to reconnect with PRIMED. "I enjoy working in the business sector of the healthcare industry, and PRIMED has been a perfect fit for me", says Miranda. While at New York University, Miranda completed a Global Environmental Health course where she learned about the impact of healthcare on the environment and the need for continued innovation for a sustainable healthcare system. At PRIMED, she leads community and sustainability initiatives as part of PRIMED's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy and assists in shaping the company's social policies. Within her role, Miranda works to form connections with all sorts of agencies, from government to non-profits, to increase PRIMED's presence in these spaces and to identify areas of corporate philanthropy. Miranda also plays an important role in promoting PRIMED's innovative products, such as the SustainTM Biodegradable Nitrile Glove.
Throughout her work at PRIMED, Miranda continues to foster her passion for advocating for women to be in leadership roles. "Being a young woman in STEM and business means that I have had to work to develop myself as a leader", Miranda says, "my work with PRIMED has given me the tools to find my voice and I have been able to show my initiative in a way that I can stay true to my values".
