PRIMED Surgical Tie Masks are disposable masks designed to provide coverage of the nose and mouth during medical procedures. Intended for single-patient use, they feature adjustable ties for a secure, comfortable fit and a flexible nose piece to help provide an effective seal.

Wearing your Surgical Tie Mask correctly
Follow each step in order. Switch tabs to see how to put the mask on and how to safely remove it.

Thoroughly wash and dry your hands.

Remove the mask from its packaging. Hold the mask with the outer layer out. The outer layer will be facing up and is usually coloured. This layer should be away from your face when donned.

With the pleats folding down, grasp the top of the mask at the center of the metal nose piece. Pull the bottom edge of the mask to open the pleats.

Place the mask against your face with the nose piece centered on the bridge of your nose. Press the nose piece to the bridge of your nose and along your cheekbones to shape the mask to your face.

Fasten the top tie at the crown of your head and the bottom tie behind your neck. If you are using a horizontal tie mask, the top tie should sit at the back of your head.

Press the nose piece to your face one more time to ensure a secure fit.

Thoroughly wash and dry your hands.

Release the mask by breaking or untying the bottom tie followed by the top tie. Avoid touching other parts of the mask to prevent contamination.

The formable metal nose piece sits along the top edge, moulded to the bridge of the nose.
The pleats typically fall downwards and away from the nose.
The white - or smoothest - side sits against the skin; the light-green colour always faces outward.
The mask fully covers both the wearer's nose and mouth. Some mask styles may have pleats folding upward as well as downward. Contact your supplier if you require clarification.
