Pink bouffants deployed for Anti-Bullying Day

On February 28th PRIMED Medical Products was out in the field taking action against bullying in the workplace. PRIMED has provided several hospitals across British Columbia with a very special pink bouffant cap to help continue to raise awareness around the issue of bullying.

What is “Pink Shirt Day”?

Pink Shirt Day started in December 2007 when David Shepherd, Travis Price and a group of friends organized a high-school protest to wear pink in sympathy with a grade 9 boy who was being bullied for wearing a pink polo (Peritz, 2007). Since 2008, net proceeds of over $1.8 million have been distributed to support youth anti-bullying programs in British Columbia and throughout Western Canada.

Bullying is not only present throughout schools; it is also visible in the workplace. Several nurses are bullied every day, causing several to leave their job or professions (Stokowski, 2010).

PRIMED is proud to support the movement to end bullying, and we will continue to support this cause in the years to come. To support Pink Shirt Day all you need to do is put on your brightest, pinkest shirt and get out there. Do not be a bully, be the difference.
